Random Notes #2

Today at the Supermarket
There was annoying Christmas music playing. The first song was particularly terrible. When Queen's Christmas song came on, I ran into an employee who was grumbling loudly to herself — seemingly responding to Freddie Mercury, because she was speaking in English. Something like, "Yes yes! We know by now that it’s Christmas &%§/($%=§!" When she turned around, she laughed because I was laughing. I told her I felt exactly the same. She then complained about having to listen to this stuff for eight hours straight and that it was driving her insane. I said that I already found it unbearable during the short time I’d been there, and I could only imagine how she felt.
When I got to the checkout, the music stopped. Someone must have shown mercy. Or feared the consequences.
I spent over ten euros and was allowed to pick out four free books. Thin ones, children's and young adult books, which amused the older lady behind me. I didn’t want any, but the lady behind me was hoping to also spend over ten euros. So, in cooperation with the cashier, I pretended to take four books, which the older lady then chose and thanked me for. While I was packing up, it was her turn, and lo and behold: she ended up spending more than ten euros and went home with eight books for her grandchildren.
Languages
Unbelievable but true: according to GitHub, Java is now in third place among my most-used languages. This means Java has overtaken SCSS and Astro.
Journal
Shocking: My journal is almost full — it only took three months.
I’m now trying to fill it up as quickly as possible so I can start a new one by January at the latest.
